How to read the karat marks on your gold
The number stamped on a chain's clasp or inside a ring tells you the purity: 750 means 18 carats (75% gold), 585 is 14 carats (58.5%), 375 is 9 carats (37.5%) and 999 is near-pure 24-carat gold. Can't find the mark, or is it too worn to read? Don't worry — we don't rely on the stamp. We measure the real purity of every piece with a laboratory XRF analysis, so we pay for the gold it actually contains, not for whatever the hallmark does (or doesn't) say.
Diamonds and stones: no need to remove them
You can send your jewellery just as it is, stones and all. Small gems don't reduce the metal's value, and for diamonds over 0.25 carats we may add value to your offer. If a piece has stones you'd rather keep, we remove them carefully and return them to you at no cost. It's your call: sell just the gold, or the whole piece.
How we work out what your jewellery is worth
The formula is simple and transparent: weight × purity × the day's gold price. We weigh each piece precisely, confirm its purity with XRF and apply the official price of the day, with no hidden margins and no deductions for condition. A broken chain or a single earring is worth the same per gram as an intact piece. And if your item is from a recognised brand, we'll tell you — sometimes its value as a designer piece exceeds the gold it contains, and that's worth knowing before you decide.

- Do you buy gold jewellery that has stones or diamonds?
- Yes, and you don't need to remove them. Small stones don't affect the value of the precious metal, and for larger stones we may add value to your offer. We value the gold by its weight and purity using XRF analysis.
- Do you accept broken, single or odd pieces (a lone earring)?
- Yes. Condition doesn't affect the gold's value: we pay for the real metal content, so a broken piece or a single earring is worth the same per gram as an intact one.
- Does the brand or design affect what you pay?
- We pay for the gold content (weight × purity) at the day's price, with no hidden margins. For designer pieces, their resale value as jewellery could be higher than their gold value.
